Benefits of Dance for PD (formerly Dancercise)

Dance for PD is a movement-based exercise class for people with Parkinson's.  No dance experience is required.  Just come comfortable dressed for a little fitness, a little dancing, and a lot of fun!

Dancercise for PD is a popular class to help people with Parkinsons.  Dance experience is not required for this exercise class.  Come comfortably dressed for 90-minutes of movement, music, and fun!  Caregivers are welcome.

Your Instructor

Louise Boyd trained as a professional dancer in London prior to moving to the United States and now lives in Munster.  Louise is a Group Exercise Instructor, specializing in older adult fitness. In 2017, Louise was selected to study at the prestigious Julliard School in New York with David Leventhal, Director of "Dance for PD", where she became certified to teach Dance for Parkinson Disease. Her classes are held at the NWI Parkinsons' Building 1st Floor Exercise Room on Wednesdays from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M.

What to Expect:

Expect to be REJUVENATED in a judgement-free zone, while playing, collaborating, dancing, and laughing together as we work on improving our balance, flexibility, mobility, strength, voice projection, muscle control, and breathing capacity. Expect the 60 minutes to fly by and to walk out of class energized and ready to take on the rest of your day.
