About Us

Over 16 years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease and shortly after that diagnosis I decided to have a style show with the proceeds going to the Michel J. Fox Foundation
(Team Fox) and American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). Since then, we have formed NWI Parkinsons Inc., a 501(c)(3) Corporation, to help fund TEAM FOX and APDA, as well as our (2) local Support Groups, (at Southlake Methodist and Munster Community Hospitals), YOGA for Parkinsons, (at Southlake Methodist), and the Parkinson's Group Therapy Program  and Rock Steady Boxing of NW Indiana at Munster Community Fitness Pointe.
With your help and the countless hours donated by the committee, we have been able to donate over $400,000.00. to benefit these great organizations and local programs.

Tickets are now available for our 3rd Annual Dinner Dance on Friday, November 3, 2017. The band "Latin Satin Soul" will provide the music and we will have complimentary champagne & hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, dinner, a unique dancing exhibition during dinner and the ever popular photo booth.

ALSO: SAVE THE DATES: SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2018, FOR OUR 10TH ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SYMPOSIUM at the Lincoln Center in Highland, and THURSDAY, MAY 31, 2018, FOR OUR 14th ANNUAL STYLE SHOW/DINNER TO BENEFIT PARKINSON DISEASE.  at Avalon Manor in Merrillville.

On January 17, 2017, we purchased the building that houses our NWI Parkinsons' office located at
2927 Jewett Avenue * Highland, Indiana.  Since the purchase we have added
Kick Boxing every Thursday at 6:00 P.M and added our Dancercise Class every Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. (we moved it from Southlake Methodist). Currently these classes are being held in our exercise room on the first floor.  If the weather permits, we would like to move these classes outside to our rear parking lot that was remodeled for our Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, July 28th. Also, on that date, Elizabeth Woodbury opened up Elizabeth's, a beautiful, small boutique in the rear of the first floor. It is a unique store in that ALL merchandise purchased by customers, 100% of the net proceeds go to fund the local Parkinson activities listed above.

Please stop by our building, take a look around and visit the boutique.  We are proud of it!!!
